Also known as ‘Horn of Plenty’ and ‘Trompette de la Mort’ this hollow capped dried mushroom varies in color between dark grey-brown to black. The flesh is quite tough with an earthy aroma.

With its dark color and flavor, it is ideal to add a contrast to a lighter dish. It also makes a fantastic addition to sauce, think Salmon with creamy Black Trumpet and Leek sauce.
